1. Log files
I do not use Google Analytics. Instead, I'm using Piwik, a self-hosted analytics solution which gives me full control over the collected data and more importantly does not "follow" you around when you browser other sites. Data is used only for personal (informational) purposes and is not shared with any third parties.
The information in the log files include:
- Internet Protocol addresses (IP)**
- Types of browser and/or device
- Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- Date and time stamp
- Referring and exit pages
- Number of clicks
** I'm not saving visitors exact IP address, instead I'm using a masking technique which is removing the last byte of visitors IP addresses. (e.g. 192.168.100.xxx)
All of this information is not linked to anything that is personally identifiable.
